CEREC CROWNS IN A DAY

Crowns in a Day North Phoenix | CEREC | Dr. Solomonsmile

Dental crowns are important restorations that help to protect teeth that have been damaged structurally and aesthetically by decay. While waiting for a traditional dental crown can be a several-weeks long process, Dr. Solomon is a Phoenix CEREC dentist who can treat your smile in just one appointment. Our one-visit dental crowns are made using chair-side software and milling technology, so you get a beautifully restored smile in as little time as possible.

Same-Day Dental Crowns vs. CEREC

Traditional crowns require at least two office visits. During the first visit, Dr. Solomon prepares the damaged tooth for the crown, takes impressions, and gives you a temporary prosthetic. Your second appointment will occur a few weeks later, after the crown has been fabricated at a lab. Dr. Solomon must then take the temporary crown off and cement the permanent crown in place. Unlike traditional crown technology, however, receiving a CEREC crown from our Phoenix dental offices takes just one visit and does not include goopy impression trays or a second appointment. All steps involved in getting a dental crown, from preparation to final placement of your permanent restoration, are performed in our office in a single dental visit.

The Benefits of CEREC Technology

The CEREC system allows Dr. Solomon to take images of a damaged tooth, import those high resolution images into advanced computer software, and use them as a blue print for fabrication of your permanent dental crown out of a solid block of porcelain, right in our office. This entire process only takes between 1-2 hours – significantly lowering the time our patients have to spend waiting for traditional crowns, which is typically around two weeks.

Not only are one-visit dental crowns convenient, but they are also highly aesthetic and durable. They do not contain metal components, as many traditional dental crowns can, which means your CEREC crown will look as natural as possible for as a long as it is part of your smile. While metal-based crowns can display a gray line around the perimeter of a damaged tooth after a few years of aging, your completely tooth-colored and aesthetic crown will not do the same. CEREC crowns also do not change size with changes in temperature, making them less likely to damage the natural tooth structure below the crown over time.
